Beulah Presbyterian Church & Preschool
Manage online communications and print publications for local church with congregation of 900.
  • Developed strategic communication plans to deliver key church messages to retain and grow the congregation. Manage all print publication and graphic design projects, including weekly bulletins, monthly newsletters, brochures, handbooks and program promotions.
  • Raised over $7,000 for tornado relief in Alabama by successfully coordinating publicity and promotion for “Music on the Hill”, an ongoing concert series for various fundraisers.
  • Increased Facebook fans 60% in six months after introducing a social media marketing plan incorporating Facebook, YouTube and staff blogs to promote community outreach and event participation.

USA Field Hockey

Managed all external and internal communication for the sport’s National Governing Body.

  • Increased membership by 15% over three years by developing communications and public relations strategy to promote the brand using a combination of print, web and social media.

  • Served as the Editor Chief for Field Hockey News, the organization’s quarterly magazine with distribution to 20,000 members. Wrote over 60 articles, contributed 350 photographs over eight editions, and coordinated nine freelancers producing 50 articles.
  • Coordinated with the Director of Marketing in developing and implementing social media advertising and promotional plans to maximize exposure for organization and national sponsors, including Asics, Nike and Under Armour. Managed Communications Department interns.
  • Served as Press Officer for the United States Olympic Committee at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Served as official match reporter for field hockey matches. Coordinated and facilitated international media with Women’s Olympic Field Hockey team players and coaches.

Pittsburgh Xplosion / Continental Basketball Association
Designed web content and multimedia marketing to generate ticket sales and sponsorship revenue. Developed and managed all print collateral for Xplosion, including programs, pocket schedules and media guides. Wrote and edited team press releases and marketing copy. Coverage included Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Tribune-Review and minor league sports websites.

  • Increased season ticket sales 75% over three seasons through targeted marketing campaigns, including television, social media and e-mail.
  • Researched and implemented league-wide webcasting initiative to promote league and teams, increasing fan touch points and generating new local revenue streams. Live Pittsburgh webcasts averaged 200 viewers per game and featured two-man broadcast team. Produced live webcast of the 2007 CBA All-Star Game, live from Montana with 2000 unique viewers.

Managed print and online communications to promote United Soccer League A-League (USL Pro) franchise. Served under formed National Team Coach John Kowalski, current D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper and current Columbus Crew Assistant Coach Ricardo Iribarren.

  • Designed and produced all print & electronic promotional material, including gameday programs, media guides and player profiles. Interviewed players and prepared player biographies. Designed numerous promotional materials, including team posters, magnet schedules, trading cards and e-newsletters.
  • Coordinated media requests with local media outlets, including beat writers from local newspapers and Fox Sports Pittsburgh. Wrote and distributed press releases and game notes.
  • Designed and managed the team website, winner of the 2004 Pittsburgh Matrix Award for Best Sports Website.
